TINY tots dished out some seasonal cheer to their elderly neighbours at harvest time last week.
The 20 young members of a Surestart Wear Valley's Get Crafty class packed fruit and vegetables for distribution to pensioners at Henknowle, near Bishop Auckland.
Aged between one and four, the children were helped by their mums and grans as well as family support workers Helen Butterfield and Wendy Minhinnett.
The Rev Richard Bainbridge, from Etherley, led a short harvest service and the children joined in a hymn.
Next week's class project is a pizza pyjama party.
Surestart aims to give children in deprived areas a better start in life and operates in the Woodhouse Close, St Helen Auckland and Henknowle wards.
