A NORTH YORKSHIRE company is giving Leeds United fans something to look forward to - even if recent controversies have taken the shine off performances on the pitch.

York construction company Yorkon is building its 200th McDonald's restaurant, opposite the club's Elland Road ground, creating 60 full and part-time jobs.

The location will mean the US burger company adopts a football theme at the drive-though, expected to cost about £1m.

Yorkon, which can boast building a McDonald's in just 48 hours, as well as the construction of western Europe's biggest, specialises in modular techniques which speed up the building process.

Director and general manager Keith Blanshard said: "This partnership is the result of long-term commitment and a process of continuous improvement on the part of both organisations, ensuring McDonald's and its customers receive the highest standards of quality, service and value.
