WITH presents under the tree, a North-East hospital's first Christmas baby decided not to hang around.
Sharon and Gary Raisbeck's baby girl arrived at 2.20am on December 25 at Bishop Auckland General Hospital, County Durham, after less than an hour in labour.
Within six hours, mother and baby were back home in Spennymoor, in time for Christmas dinner.
The 6lb 9oz baby arrived so fast that her parents did not have time to choose a name, but the Magpies fans are considering naming her Lainya, after the wife of their hero, Alan Shearer.
Gary, from Ullswater Close, said: "She was the first born at Bishop Auckland Hospital, and the nurse thinks she was the first in County Durham."
Like her name-sake's husband, the baby had impeccable timing, arriving on her predicted date, and is now settling into life with her five brothers and sisters.
