GRACE Walker from Easingwold won a seven-horse jump-off to take the 31-starter Blue Chip Power qualifier over Amanda Cole's excellent course at Richmond equestrian centre, writes Malcolm Bewsher.

The 14-year-old was riding the five-year-old French-bred mare Catch A Cloud and beat off the Cumbrian challenge of Margaret Kendall on Julie Lloyd's Diamond City and Karl Bowman on Sea Saga.

Grace, trained by Linda Young, has qualified for the BEIB Star Championship and looks forward to the finals next April at Solihull.

Other Power tickets went to Boroughbridge rider Jackson Reed-Stephenson with Young Gun, Whitby's Marcus Richardson on Waste Warrior and Bishopton-trained Natalie Nunn (Delholme Little Earner) and Sophie Cuthbert (River Dipper).

Katherine Leak and King Leonarcus clinched the 1.20m open/Horse and Hound foxhunter ahead of Clare Chapelhow on Suzie's First Choice. The latter was runner-up in the 1m open behind Margaret Kendall's Members Cup winner Ballyflame, while Amada Atkinson and Balley took the British Novice.

l Annelise Stonehouse from Great Ayton scored a double when the BSPS Area 3A held a winter championship qualifying show at Toad Hall, Carlton Minniott courtesy of the Masterton family.

Riding the nine-year-old Mayheath Royal Blessing, she won the open show hunter pony. She had earlier taken the novice working hunter tricolour ahead of Alex Farrar-Fry on the Dartmoor pony Tamborough Red Dragon.

Ben Hones from Chopgate took the mini championship riding the six-year-old Seasons Sovereign, with reserve going to Stokesley's Hannah Atkinson on the six-year-old Dryfe Sceptre Song.

The latter took the Mountain and Moorland lead rein ahead of Ashling Quinn on the five-year-old Dartmoor pony Cosden Carlos, while Ben's younger brother Joshua won the lead rein show hunter riding the six-year-old Hollybush Secret.

The novice show hunter tricolour went to Lauren Gill with the six-year-old Rhyllandell Amber Dawn, owned by Janet Cox from Grantley, and Lynsey Cox was reserve with Knowle Song and Dance Man by Anne Furness's stallion Court Crooner.

Lauren also won a Heritage Working Hunter riding Serock Enoch ahead of Jennifer Cowan on Tanmoor Music Man. The latter was runner-up to Emma Graham on Belchford Sundowner in the open section.

Jessica Field and Rebecca Baldwin scored double wins with Megland Dewdrop and Earcroft Ambassador, while Chloe Straker had a good win with Gingerbread Man and a second with Black September. Lauren Walker riding Gems Ballykissangel took the open working hunter.
