A MAN was badly injured when he was in collision with a car.
The 32-year-old unidentified man from Guisborough, east Cleveland, sustained a fractured pelvis and knee cap when he collided with a Vauxhall Corsa.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: "At this time, it is believed the driver's attention was drawn to a dog at the side of the road immediately prior to colliding with the pedestrian in the carriageway."
The accident happened on the A171 Whitby Road, about 250 metres from its junction with Gisborough Hall, on Wednesday.
