VILLAGERS in North Yorkshire have until early next month to contribute to plans for safer roads through the community.
The county council has committed itself to a package of measures worth an estimated £150,000 in Catterick Village, Tunstall and Brompton-on-Swale.
However, the authority is hoping people who live in the area will play a part in the project, and questionnaires have been sent out requesting their views.
Proposals include a new 20mph speed limit in the centre of Catterick Village, as well as speed cushions on the High Street, Low Green and Leeming Lane, where surveys have shown 80 per cent of drivers break the 30mph speed limit.
However, consultation forms need to be returned to North Yorkshire County Council by Friday, January 11.
Anyone interested in the Catterick scheme, but who has not received consultation documents, can examine the proposals at the village post office.
