VALUABLE property can now be micro-chipped thanks to a Darlington company.
Cleveland Studios, in Lingfield Way, has created a tagging system for use on caravans, and gardening and electrical equipment.
The micro-chips, called ChiptraC work in the same way as those used to tag domestic animals.
If a micro-chipped product is recovered by the police it can simply be scanned to reveal where it came from.
The company hopes to interest manufacturers around the world in the tags so they can sell products with the security feature pre-installed
