SNOOKER: The Durham CIU Individual Snooker Final takes place at Darlington WMC on Tuesday, March 26, between M Pratt of Chilton and Windlestone WMC and W Robson of Murton Victoria Club.

BOXING: Darlington Boxing Club' Argie Ward is just one fight away from the final of the National ABA Championships having won in the quarter-finals in Coventry last Saturday.

The 23-year-old beat Dougie Walton with a third round knockout to put himself in the semis which take place tonight at Eston Sports Academy, Normanby Road (7.30pm).

Ward faces Colin Weston of Norwich and the featherweight, coached by Trevor Craggs and Mike Winn, is bidding to become the club's fourth ABA champion following in the footsteps of Mike Hall, Anthony Todd and Alan Hall.

Darlington ABC's Francis Jones also made it to the quarter finals but that's where his run ended as he was stopped in the second round by Martin Concepcion.

Also on the bill this evening are crusierweight James Dolan of Plains Farm ABC, Sunderland and his brother David who fights at heavyweight.

There a few tickets (£10) remaining on the door while tables are also still available (£175 plus VAT).

CRICKET: Willington CC have signed former Greenside player Steve Murray and ex-Crook player Andrew Guy in time for the new season.
