ORGANISERS of this year's Sedgefield Show are looking for more exhibitors for the crafts section.

Entries are coming in steadily for most sections of the show, which is back again on August 10 after an enforced break last year because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.

But show secretary Brian Woodward would like to see more exhibitors taking space in the craft tent and is urging anyone interested to get in touch with him as soon as possible.

A spokesman said: "Show day in Sedgefield is much more than a day for visiting the show, it is also a day when villagers who have sought their fortunes elsewhere make a point of returning home to renew old friendships and family ties.

"Those returning and other visitors will not be disappointed, because although the show will be without cattle classes this year, there will be plenty of other attractions such as small livestock and horticultural tents."

He said there would be horse and pony classes, and a dog show."

Closing date for entries in most classes is Thursday, July 25, with horticultural class entries closing on August 7.

Full details of all the classes and where entries should be sent are contained in the schedule, which is available from Mr Woodward on (01740) 620431, from the Sedgefield branch of Barclays Bank, the post office or library.
