THE Dealer a Day campaign to cut drug activities in Middlesbrough saw another seven raids in the week up to last Sunday.

In total, eight people were arrested, four were bailed pending the outcome of forensic tests. The remaining four were all charged with drug supply offences and appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court.

* A 23-year-old man was char ged with possession and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine; possession and possession with intent to supply heroin; possession of cannabis and wounding.

* A 39-year-old man was char ged with possession and possession with intent to supply heroin.

* A 23-year-old man was charged with possession and possession with intent to supply heroin.

* A 22-year-old man was charged with possession of heroin.

So far, the Dealer a Day operations have seen 281 people arrested as a result of 301 raids against suspected drug dealers in Middlesbrough.

Drugs with a street value in excess of £71,000 have been recovered and officers have seized more than £59,600 in cash.

As a result of an earlier raid, a 19-year-old man answered police bail last week and was charged with possession of amphetamine.

He was bailed and will appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court at a later date.

A police spokesman said: "The week saw yet another series of successful operations which have disrupted the drugs market in the town. Dealer a Day will continue to harass those involved in the trade that brings misery to many people."
