THE Lumley Castle wedding extravaganza takes place on Sunday, September 8, from 1pm to 4.30pm, with more than 50 exhibitors and displays of gowns, wedding transport, cakes, hair show, beauty demonstrations, Scottish pipers, chimney sweep and a dove released from the gazebo.

Admission is £1.50.

BUS SUPPORT: Residents of a Darlington estate have agreed to support a youth outreach project. The Whinfield Residents' Association, in Darlington, is to donate £150 to the town's Blitz Bus project.

CHARITY SALE: There will be a table-top sale in Winston Village Hall in aid of cancer charities on October 12, between 10am and 1.30pm. Stallholders are asked to arrive at 9am.
