Loftus maintained their interest in the championship with a 77 runs victory over Ormesby Hall who were all out for 75.

Dixon was in splendid form with the ball when introduced as second change to the Loftus attack and his six wickets were taken at the miserly cost of 13 runs. Whitwell gave good support with three for ten.

Batting first Loftus posted 152 for four before declaring. Barritt top scored with 58 while opening batsman Peirson carried his bat for 50.

Dormans made just 71 but Norton had to fight all the way before securing a one wicket victory. In a game where bowlers were dominant and none did better than Sinclair who claimed six Dormans wickets for just 34 runs. Brooks finished with three for 36 but when Norton replied they too found it difficult to score and Dale in particular caused them problems. His six wickets were captured for 37 runs and Hussain assisted with three for 17. Although man of the match Sinclair carried his bat for 35 Norton just edged home with nine wickets down.

Paragonians were another team to find runs scarce when they hosted Boosbeck. The home side were precariously placed on 68 for nine at stumps, but gained a draw. Richardson with five for 47 and Ward whose four wickets were taken for 20 runs, were the bowlers who almost clinched victory for Boosbeck.

When they batted first Boosbeck ended on 152 for seven which included a top scoring 56 by Weatherhead while for Paragonians Skilbeck returned three for 67 and Melrose two for 39.

The Merlin were all out for 29 runs in 13.4 overs when they visited Staithes. Mark Allen returned the remarkable figures of four wickets for one run in seven overs, six of which were maidens and Graham Major had two for six from 1.4 overs.

In reply Staithes quickly made their way to a winning margin as David Bowes carried his bat for 22 hitting one boundary and two sixes in his side's eight wickets victory.

Two games went ahead in division two and Brotton are still way ahead at the top of the table following their nine wickets success at Skelton Castle. The home side posted 97 for six which included an undefeated 39 from Elliott and for Brotton, Broughton took most of the wickets and ended with figures of three for 26.

In reply Brotton lost opening batsman Wrigley for 22 runs, but Smith finished unbeaten on 28 and Broughton carried his bat for 41 in a nine wickets success.

After bowling Blacksmiths Arms out for just 45 with Ward chasing six wickets for a mere 12 runs, Moorsholm won by eight wickets as Hooker finished unbeaten with 24.
