Evenwood will return to the top of the table if they win at Brandon today.

Current leaders Kimblesworth have a free day and the destination of the championship is very much in the hands of Evenwood, who will finish in pole position if they take 43 points from their last three fixtures.

"There are no easy games at this stage of the season," said Evenwood's Alf Teesdale.

"We are in the driving seat, but we will be taking nothing for granted. You just have to see what happened to Kimblesworth and Esh Winning last Monday to appreciate that anything can occur."

Craig Dargue and Neil Teesdale miss today's crucial match but Billy Teesdale is included in the side and with strike bowlers John Maughan and Deighton Butler in great form, Brandon could have their work cut out.

Esh Winning are now the outsiders, but mathematically are still in with a shout.

They go to Sedgefield with Stephen Dunn coming in for the unavailable Peter Maddison and the home side, second-from-bottom with just three wins, also keep alterations to a minimum. Michael Dickinson is promoted from the Second XI.

Langley Park, buoyed at defeating Kimblesworth in the holiday programme, are back to full strength for their fixture with Etherley.

Keith Smith, David Leslie and Philip Daughtry are all named with Michael White and Daniel Wilkinson listed for the Second XI.

Chris Renshaw is playing football for Bishop Auckland so misses out for Etherley who welcome the return of Colin Barker and Ashley Raine.

Willington have a local derby with Crook Town. Neil Moore, Stephen Hunt and Stephen Donnelly all resume for the home side with Crook still missing Ian Williams but including Lee Holloway.

Tomorrow, Crook meet Leadgate in the final of the Greg McCrory Memorial Trophy at Annfield Plain.

They were also scheduled to play Easington in the final of the Triple Shield, but the game has been put back until September 15.

Shildon are unchanged for the visit from Mainsforth, who are unable to call upon Wayne Firbank but Gary Johns can turn out.

Tudhoe go to Ushaw Moor with Stuart Hood taking over from Michael Kyle.

With Brendan Jackson, Stephen Hancock and Peter McCormack all available, Ushaw field their strongest line-up.
