FORMER miners suffering from vibration white finger have been warned they have only days to make a claim under a government sponsored compensation scheme.
The scheme, run by the Department of Trade and Industry, ends on October 31. More than £100m has been paid to former pitmen in the North-East suffering from the condition.
The condition is caused by pneumatic equipment and restricts blood flow in the hands and fingers, causing numbness.
