AN ELDERLY woman has died in hospital more than two months after being injured in an accident involving a bus.
Mary Bongard, of North End, Durham City, died in the University Hospital of North Durham at the weekend.
The 83-year-old pedestrian suffered serious head injuries in the collision near the exit of Durham bus station, in North Road, on October 19.
Police said yesterday that a post-mortem examination would be carried out today to confirm the cause of death, but the incident was being treated as a fatal road accident.
