TWO brothers were stabbed in a late-night attack in Marske High Street on Saturday.

The men aged, 17 and 20, suffered single stab wounds to their abdomens. They were taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital before being transferred to James Cook University Hospital. They were released after treatment. The attackers, both in their thirties, were arrested by police then bailed, pending further inquiries. Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 302 626.

WHAT'S ON: A free What's On guide for Hartlepool is out now. UNWANTED GIFTS: Thornaby's Asda store will be holding a Christmas gift amnesty where customers can drop off their unwanted presents. Each will then be passed on to local charities in Thornaby and Stockton. The Gift Amnesty trolley will be at the front of the store until Friday, January 17, after which all donated presents will be distributed to local charities.

EYES PEELED: A Neighbourhood Watch scheme is to be relaunched in the Elm Tree area of Stockton. Anyone interested in becoming a co-ordinator or member should attend the next Neighbourhood Watch meeting at Medina House on Tuesday, January 14, at 7pm.

PICTURE PERFECT: An evening class in digital photography and imaging starts at Guisborough's Laurence Jackson School on Thursday, January 9. The class, led by Anne Inzel, is in addition to two classes already running at the school.
