Councillors have called a meeting to discuss policing in New Marske, at 7pm tonight. Conservative councillors Vera Moody and Norah Cooney have arranged the meeting.

Chief Superintendent John Kelly and Cleveland Police Authority chairman Ken Walker will be there. All residents of New Marske are welcome to attend.

PILATES SESSIONS: Courses in pilates are being held at Southlands Leisure Centre, in Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough. Hourly sessions begin on Mondays at 10am, at 6pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays, and at 7pm on Sundays. The six-week course costs £18.60 for members and £21.60 for non-members. EXTRA STAIRLIFTS: Victoria Community House, in Stockton, now has two stairlifts thanks to a £2,000 donation. The centre, which provides a drop-in facility, adult education courses, an unemployment project and training facilities for the local community, received the money from Action Team for Jobs.

SURGERY CANCELLED: Middlesbrough councillors Ken Walker and Steve Grace have cancelled their ward surgery for Gresham ward residents, due to be held from 9.30am to 10.30am on Monday, January 27, at the Ace centre. The surgery will now take place from 9.30am to 10.30am, on Tuesday January 28, at the Ace Centre.

ARCHERY ANTICS: People aged 11 and over are being invited to try archery at the Summerhill Visitor Centre, off Catcote Road, Hartlepool, on Saturday, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. No experience is necessary, as full instructions and equipment will be provided. Anyone interested should meet at the visitor centre at 1.30pm. The cost is £2.50 for adults and £2 for concessions.
