Darlington 21st Allstars: Once again the weather played a big part in this weekend's fixtures. Only four matches were played in terrible conditions.

The Under-9s were at home to Cumby Rovers in the league and came away the victors. The Allstars started slowly but worked hard and ended the game will an easy well-deserved 2-0 victory. Scorers were Bradley Simpson (2) and man of the match was Liam Riley.

In the friendly, the Allstars stepped up a gear and kept a clean score sheet but managed to put the ball in the back of the net 11 times.

Scorers were man of the match Bradley Simpson (5), Adam Jackson (2), Andrew Wilson, Liam Jarvie, Liam Riley and James Szoboszlai.

The Under-10 Colts were hosts to Brinkburn and after a hard fought match came away with a well-deserved 2-0 win. The Allstars defended well and gave a fantastic all round team performance. The scorers were Paul Johnson and man of the match was Philip Wake.

In the friendly, the Allstars kept up the pressure winning the match with a hat trick from Daniel Burn and a fantastic goal by Jack Woodcock, with the final result a 4-3 victory.

Scorers were man of the match Daniel Burn (3) and Jack Woodcock.

The Under-16s travelled to Cleveland Juniors for this week's league game. Cleveland must have thought Christmas had come again when they were presented with three sloppy goals by a kind-hearted Allstars defence. It was always going to be hard for the Allstars, playing their first game for four weeks, but to their credit they dominated the second half and were rewarded with two goals from man of the match Steve Howden and were denied strong last minute penalty appeals when Yussef Abdo was brought down in the box. Man of the match was Howden.

The Under-12 Colts were away to Hardwick Youth, playing in terrible conditions with only the frost holding the pitch together. Hardwick took the early lead and with a dubious penalty decision the Allstars found it difficult to come back. The Allstars had a clear penalty decision overruled but kept on working and passing the ball on a waterlogged pitch. The Allstars continued to work hard and with the game drawing 3-3, the match was evenly contested. The final score of a 6-4 Hardwick victory was not reflective of this good all round Allstars team performance. Scorers were Liam Clarke, Adam MacDonald, Scott Colling and Tom with man of the match going to Matty Shaw.

Darlington Spraire Lads

Once again this weekend the weather was the winner with only two games played. The Under-15s lost 4-0 at Guisbrough in a game where Spraire had more than enough chances to gain something.

At Under-16 Spraire went to Marton. In the first half Spraire competed well going in 2-1 down.

This score stayed the same for the first quarter of an hour inthe second half.

However Marton's third goal opened up the flood gates and Spraire conceded a further three to loose 6-1.

Spraire's goal came from Grant.

The Under-14 B team's league fixture with Barnard Castle was postponed due to a frozen pitch, but they managed to play a friendly on the adjacent rugby pitch.

It was seven weeks since Spraire last played and it showed. Barney would have been 5-2 more by half-time if not for some wayward shooting and some good 'keeping by Petch and had to settle for 2-2. After the interval Spraire managed to blow-off the cobwebs and managed to play some very good football in patches to run out 7-3 winners. Scorers were Tubby Chandler (4), McBride, Moore and Scott Chandler.

In the Richmond League, the Under-14s put in a very spirited and encouraging display at Bedale but went down 12-0 to a very powerful and determined side.

Spraire's lone striker Jazz Simpson was awarded man of the match
