A Jason Greenland goal earned Victoria a priceless win in Division Two as they jumped from eighth to fifth in the table.

The league's fixture programme was a victim of the bad weather last week, with only two games going ahead.

And Victoria took advantage of their game with Brawns Den being played by bagging an impressive win - and leapfrogging them in the process.

Adam Cunningham had given them a 1-0 half-time lead, but Peter Boucher equalised for the Den before Greenland netted the winner.

Meanwhile, in the only other game last week, Green Tree drew level with Postchaise at the top when they narrowly beat Two Blues 3-2.

Postchaise remain at the top of the table on goal difference and with two games in hand, but Tree maintained their pressure on the leaders through goals by Barry Liddle, Matthew Carrick and Darren Rutter.

"It was a very tough game," admitted Tree boss Craig Stevens. "It was a very competitive game and we were losing twice so had to battle back in difficult conditions. I was pleased to eventually win the game." Lee Nixon and Mark Smith scored for the Blues.

Meanwhile, strikers will be looking to get back on the goalscoring trail when games eventually start getting played again.

In Division One, Thorns front man Mark Russell is currently top scorer with 26 goals as his side top the league.

However, Newton Aycliffe's experienced striker Dave Muir is close behind with 23, and Aycliffe have games in hand. Graham Stobbs, of Brandon, currently has 21 goals, while Lakeside's Martin Walker and Tudhoe United's Christian Schofield both have 15 and Old Shildon's Phillip Appleby has 12.
