LIFE in Weardale inspired one of its residents to write a prize-winning story for a national magazine contest.
Kathleen Peart's story, based on the theme of One Day at a Time, focused on the beauty of nature and the advantage of living one day at a time. Miss Peart, from Wearhead, received a £50 cheque as a runner-up in the Farmers Weekly writing competition.
