A NORTH Yorkshire town's Methodist Church, gutted by fire a year ago is getting a £310,000 restoration.

The church, at Norton-on-Derwent, was extensively damaged when the fire started in the organ and spread to the rest of the building. It is likely to reopen at the end of the summer with a complete new look after extensive work which will see major changes internally, said the minister the Reverend Stewart Young.
