RESTORATION of a railway embankment between Leeds and Harrogate will involve part of the line being shut down for a month later this year.

The news means more misery for rail passengers, who are enduring a long-running dispute between rail operator Arriva and some of its staff, who are staging a series of strikes.

The Leeds-Harrogate-York line will be closed between Harrogate and Horsforth from August 3 to August 31 for essential work.

A bus service is expected to operate between the stations during the closure.
