YOUNG actors brought the rock 'n' roll era of the Fifties back to life this week, in a production of the hit musical, Grease, made famous by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John
Greencroft School in Annfield Plain, near Stanley, was transformed into Rydell High for the performance by lower school pupils.
Drama worker Shaun Towers, of the Durham County Access Team, worked with teacher Helen Collinson to adapt the script for the show and Karen Surtees, head of art, created a backcloth and a car.
The performance marked the stage debut for many of the youngsters in the cast, which featured Adam Knowles, Justine Liddell and Sarah Parkinson in the lead roles.
