AN event to mark the closure of Bedale police station, a year short of its centenary, will take place on Saturday, February 22.
Anyone with any professional connection with the station, on Aiskew Bank, including serving and retired police officers and magistrates, is invited to the event which takes place at 7.30pm at The Lodge at Leeming Bar, formerly Motel Leeming.
The event is organised by operational support officer Christine Tyler, who has worked at the station for 18 years. She said: "Quite a lot of interest is being shown up to now."
Anyone interested in attending can contact Mrs Tyler on (01609) 789473 or (01677) 422756. A buffet costs £7 per head and a £3.50 deposit should be paid as soon as possible.
