Three youngsters were presented with certificates by the Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Jean O'Donnell, on Tuesday, after winning a poster competition.
More than 2,000 pupils from schools across the borough of Stockton took part in the Crucial Crew event, teaching them such things as 999 calls, safety with animals and how to be safe when near or on roads.
They were then invited to design a poster showing what they had learnt.
Each school submitted one design and three winners were selected - Annabel Fothergill, from Kirklevington Primary School; Chris Parks of Priors Mill CE School and Hinna Salem, of Yarm Primary School.
The agencies taking part in the event included Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Brigade, HM Coastguard and Northern Electric.
