INVESTIGATORS will deliver their verdict on an NHS decision to close a maternity hospital at public meeting tonight.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council set up a committee to examine the temporary closure of Guisborough Hospital's maternity unit in November.
The findings will be revealed by chairman, Councillor Vilma Collins, at Laurence Jackson School, Guisborough, from 6.30pm.
Coun Collins said: "We have conducted a thorough investigation and taken evidence from a number of interested groups and individuals.
"There is a demand that this facility will be reopened as quickly as possible.
"Our report will cover all the evidence that has been received, together with our recommendations.
"As this process began with a public meeting, it is only proper for the public to be the first to hear our findings.
