TWO pets who have been saved from being destroyed are in need of loving homes.
The lurcher/husky cross and a terrier were scheduled to be put down when Julie Johnson, from South Church, near Bishop Auckland, stepped in.
Julie and her friends have since had the pets checked by vets, who found them to be healthy. Now they are being cared for in foster homes while they wait to start life afresh with new families.
Ms Johnson said: "They will both make somebody a lovely pet."
She and her friends have rescued other animals for which they hope to find new homes.
Anyone who would like to offer a dog a home can contact Ms Johnson on 07989 841374.
