PEOPLE on Teesside are being urged to find out more about mental health and learning disabilities.
Tees and North-East Yorkshire NHS Trust is launching the Open Up campaign to tackle the stigma and discrimination often attached to mental health problems and learning disabilities.
Moira Britton, the trust's chief executive will launch the campaign at Flatts Lane Centre, Middlesbrough, tomorrow.
She said: "As a specialist mental health and learning disabilities trust, we have a duty to tackle this sort of stigma and discrimination.
"Despite the fact that mental health problems can and do affect people of all ages and backgrounds, there is still a reluctance to talk about mental health and learning disabilities.
"We hope that our Open Up campaign will help people understand more about these areas of health."
