A TALENTED musician at Aysgarth School, near Bedale, is celebrating a double success.
Oliver Phillips gained a music scholarship to Harrow School and had the honour of being selected for the independent prep school's National Concert Band.
Oliver's music scholarship is the fifth awarded by Harrow to Aysgarth in recent years.
The 13-year-old studies the trombone at school with tutor Dougie Scarfe, and the piano with Fiona Gaffney.
He also sings in the senior choir, directed by Tom Oakshott.
"Oliver's enthusiasm and talent means he justly deserves this major award and we are all thoroughly delighted," said director of music Mr Oakshott.
