ONE of Stan Laurel's descendants is to cast her spell over crowds at a medieval castle as one half of an international magic act.
International illusionists David and Angelique Diamond, who specialise in "close up magic" and dramatic illusions, are working at Lumley Castle, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Angelique is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Stan Laurel, the star of the silver screen who hailed from County Durham. She will be impressing diners at the hotel at "magic dinners" where she and David will perform tricks at tables and will also stage illusions and stunts for corporate events or weddings.
They have performed around the world and entertained on cruises liners.
They are soon to appear at the Paris air show.
