Darlington boss Mick Tait is warning his players of a potential backlash when they take on Division Three high-flyers Bourne-mouth at the weekend.

Tait's side make the long trip to the south coast with a fresh air of optimism after collecting four points from a possible six in their last two games.

However, Tait remains cautious, with third-placed Cherries desperate to return to winning ways after losing their last two.

"Bournemouth will be going all out for a win," said Tait.

"They've lost their last two so they'll want to start winning again to stay up there.

"We'll go there with plenty of confidence and hopefully pick up another three points."

While being the first to admit his side were fortunate to win on Tuesday, Tait will welcome any win regardless of performance.

"We didn't play very well at all but the important thing was we got the three points," said Tait.

"I think a draw probably would have been a fair result but these things happen.

"You only have to look at the amount of games we've played this season where we've deserved more and came away with less."

Blackburn striker Jim Corbett, currently on a one-month loan with the club, is expected to make the trip with the rest of the squad to the Fitness First Stadium at the weekend.

The 22-year-old was on the bench against Hartlepool but missed the win over York after taking a knock in training.

Defender Stuart Whitehead will be hoping to convince Tait that he is fit to return after a two-game absence with an ankle injury.

"Stuart seems pretty confident he will be fit enough but we'll just have to wait and see," said Tait.

"The likes of Gary Pearson have done very well for us so I am in no hurry to rush Stuart back."

Striker Glenn Naylor could make a return to action next week. He is expected to step up his rehabilitation after a knee operation with a run out for the reserves next Wednesday.

Leigh RMI are hoping to keep Mark Ford for another month. The midfielder joined the Conference strugglers on loan in February.
