A man has been appointed to take over the reins at one of the hospices serving North Yorkshire.
Martyn Callaghan has been appointed as the chief executives of St Leonard's Hospice in York and will take up his post in May.
He is the chief executive of Barnsley Hospice and before that was the deputy chief executive and director of support services at St Catherine's Hospice, Scarborough.
"Opportunities like this one at St Leonard's don't come often," said Mr Callaghan.
"It is one of the leading hospices in the region and I am very proud to be joining a place with such an excellent reputation for its standards of care and with such a high profile in the community."
He is a governor and vice-chairman of governors at Norton College.
