POLICE have released an e-fit of a man who has posed as an official to steal from homes.
The man, aged about 30, burgled a house in Whitby Way, on Darlington's Branksome estate, on Tuesday morning.
He tricked an elderly resident by claiming to be from the water board, before stealing money from her house.
He is about 5ft 7in, with a round face, pale complexion and curly black hair. He was clean shaven, spoke with a local accent and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and black trousers.
He may have committed a similar offence in Bloomfield Road, Darlington.
