FUNDRAISERS are gearing up for the highlight of their campaign with the help of a bright yellow car.
Throughout this month, Marie Curie Cancer Care is holding its national Daffodil Campaign, supported by Yellow Pages, to raise money for the free home nursing service it provides.
Yesterday, volunteers were selling daffodils outside the Town Hall, in Durham, to mark Daffodil Day.
Linda McDonough, area fundraising co-ordinator for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: "With cancer sadly affecting one in three people at some point in their lives, Marie Curie Cancer Care is the only major charity with nurses who provide hands-on nursing care to people with cancer in the comfort of their own homes.
"That is why we need your help. Marie Curie relies totally on voluntary donations and fundraising from the community."
In addition to buying daffodils, people are also being asked to help sell them or to hold fundraising events.
Ms McDonough said: "We can help you with posters, flyers and tickets.
"Just let us know what your plans are and we can help you throughout."
