PUPILS and staff at Aysgarth Preparatory School, near Bedale, are celebrating the academic success of four of their pupils.
Gregory Potter, 13, of Newton-Le-Willows, Bedale, has followed in the footsteps of his eldest brother, Christopher, by winning a scholarship to Wellington College, in Berkshire. Tom Wright, 13, of Northallerton, won a scholarship to Ampleforth College, near Helmsley.
Thirteen-year-old Johnny Rowles, of Barton-on-Humber, will be heading to Harrow School. It is the second year running that an Aysgarth boy has achieved a scholarship there.
Filippo Celuzza, 12, from Middlesex, won a scholarship to Stowe School, Buckinghamshire.
Headmaster Anthony Goddard said: "We are delighted that these boys have been rewarded for their hard work by these awards. We are so pleased that the school's increased focus on academic excellence is bearing fruit."
