Mackinlay 6 v 4 Tioxide: This excellent end to end match saw Mackinlay pull back from 2-0 behind to end up 6-4 winners.

Two goals from Kris Cuff put Tioxide 2-0 ahead early in the first half. Mackinlay fought back and were rewarded when captain Jean Hyde scored from a penalty corner. Shortly after Mackinlay's first goal Terry Saffin scored at the far post after an excellent pass from Mackinlay's man of the match Mary Dowson. Just before half time Caroline Wood flicked the ball into the goal to give Mackinlay a 3-2 lead.

There were chances at both after half time. Mackinlay had several good shots cleared off the line by defender Sharon Smith. A goalmouth scramble at the other end ended up with Laura Hogan equalising for Tioxide. Mackinlay went ahead against through Terry Saffin but Tioxide levelled once more through Kris Cuff followed by Mackinlay's Marion Calvert to put the home side ahead again. Caroline Wood received a corner from Michelle Leibrick who pass to Marion Calvert on the top circle where a tell placed shot from Marion beat the Tioxide keeper.

There were further shots and pressure at both ends for the rest of the game. With five minutes remaining Michelle Leibrick gave Mackinlay a much needed two-goal cushion slotting the ball into the goal after a good run up the right wing.

Player of the match for Mackinlay Mary Dowson, Tioxide Sharon Smith.

Stockton 0 v 2 Richmond: The visitors Richmond took advantage of an early break with top scorer Sam Dunne slotting the ball past Stockton's stand-in keeper Pam Meek. With Stockton recovering quickly they placed an increasing amount of pressure on Richmond's defence. After being awarded a penalty corner Stockton produced a well executed flick into the back of the net to beat the Richmond defence. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed as the ball was deemed to be rolling. The first half continued in end to end action, Richmond, however, always look dangerous on the break.

The second half followed the same pattern, opportunities created by both teams and each defence absorbing pressure well. Richmond proved dangerous on the break, with a skilfully executed cross into the Stockton circle Claire Bevin jabbed the ball home. Player of the match for Stockton Caroline Jones, for Richmond Jacqui Bromley.

New Dales 6 v 1 Guisborough: This was always going to be a difficult game for the home side - to earn any kind of a result they would have to work hard and be disciplined. Guisborough came out strongly and their fast, skillful forwards had to be well marked to prevent them from getting in to the danger area. Helen Barker, in particular, required some attention to break down some positive drives down the centre. It was New Dales, however, who were finding it easier to penetrate - Hannah Phillips forging a route through on the right to regularly fire strong crosses to the predatory attack. It was following one of these moves that Lucy Walker swept the ball behind the Guisborough keeper from the left to break the stalemate.

Guisborough continued to try to push forward, but it seemed like the hard working Dales defence would contain them. Helen Humphrey however, had other ideas, scoring from a lovely strike from the edge of the D into the corner of the net, unstoppable for keeper Gill Brine. At half time, despite everyone's efforts, it remained 1-1.

It was clear at the start of the second half that it was still anyone's game, Nell Dinsdale and Heather Stevenson were causing all sorts of problems in the visitor's D with their keeper saving the day on a number of occasions. In fact two goals came in quick succession, one from Nell and another from Lucy Walker, from a ball played from the right by the strong Helen Simpson.

Guisborough began to show some lack of composure from this point, with New Dales passing the ball well at the front they seemed to be finding it difficult to mark players, and New Dales were gifted with a number of shots.

Guisborough were not to give up though, and they were getting the ball up the pitch, winning a series of long and penalty corners. Dales continued to defend determinedly, however, and were wise to the visitors set pieces, managing to consistently clear the ball from players such as the ever waiting Alison Laws. Goals continued to flow from the sticks of a confident New Dales forward line at the other end. Heather Stevenson was rewarded for her efforts in defence as well as attack, as she flipped the ball in to the back of the net. Lucy Walker found her hat-trick, her excellent positioning allowing her to place the ball accurately from another one of Hannah Phillips' deadly long balls. Nell Dinsdale scored again, and had her hat trick denied as the goal was disallowed in the dying seconds of an exciting match.

Player of the match for Guisborough was Kerry Lewis whose skillful, intelligent play and excellent distribution made her a tough opponent. Hannah Phillips won the honour again for New Dales, her driving runs down the right proving very difficult for the defence to contain.

Other results: Barnard Castle 1, Roseberry 4 (player of the match for Barnard Castle Jean Sotheran, for Roseberry Trish Alderson); Mackinlay 0, Stokesley 5; Guisborough 2, Tioxide 1.
