Darlington Spraire Lads: THE Under-9s travelled to in-form Greatham and came away with a very good 1-0 win thanks to man of the match Wilson Kneeshaw. Spraire started strongly, taking the lead in the first ten minutes from a good throw by Zac Tervit for Kneeshaw to tuck the ball home.

The second half was much tighter with the Spraire defence coming under strong pressure but the defensive trio of Allinson, Bennett and Bowers held firm to send Spraire top of the league.

The following friendly ended with a 3-1 defeat, Tervit scoring the Spraire goal.

Spraire Under-14s were at home to Teesside Athletic and came away with a 2-1 victory, goals coming from M Davision and M Ward. Sraire put in a excellent team performance with man of the match going to M Ward.

Spraire Lads Under-14 B had to work hard to break down an improving Thornaby team but close-range efforts from Basra and McBride, together with Knox's superb lob, put Spraire in the driving seat by half-time. An excellent brace by 'Tubs' Chandler in the second-half completed the 5-0 scoreline. The score could have been higher if Scott Chandler and Clarke hadn't missed from the penalty spot! Man of the match was awarded to Lewis Raper for his faultless and disciplined display at full-back.

Spraire Under-16s played Allstars and after going 1-0 down, Spraire came back to take a 2-1 lead. However, they were unable to hold on and lost 3-2, both Spraire goals came from Sheild.

Richmond Town: THE Under-12s continued with their unbeaten record in the league with an away win against Mount Pleasant Rangers with a scoreline of 8-1, writes BEN PROSSER.

They continue to close in on the league title with this impressive victory taking their tally to 11 wins out of 11. Despite a load of chances to score, Richmond went in 1-0 at half time with a well-taken goal by B Whiteside and they dominated all the play in the first half. Following a tactical switch at half time Richmond turned on the style in the second half to record their second highest win of the season. Within five minutes of the restart B Whiteside recorded his hat-trick and there were further goals from B Holmes, C Swainston, J Lincoln and R Bastow who scored a fine double midway through the second half. A late consolation goal by the Rangers could not take the sheen off a well deserved win for Richmond in what was a highly entertaining match.

Richmond Under-15s lost 2-1 at home to Riverside Rovers. With an injury depleted squad, the team played well against a strong and impressive Rovers. It was an exciting game played in a manner that was a credit to both teams. A goal in each half from Rovers, Richmond scored in the second half through C Cox. B Tack, in goal for Richmond, pulled off excellent saves.

Richmond Under-14s played Whitby in a league match and won 2-0. This was the first meeting between these two teams in two years. The first half was a stalemate with Richmond having chances to go ahead but failing to convert them. In the second half Richmond went ahead when a lovely ball from K Watt in defence found J Flannery who finished the move coolly. Whitby created chances but lacked the penetration to put a shot past Richmond's defence. Whitby's defence lost concentration and Richmond scored a second goal through J Flannery, giving Richmond a comfortable win.

Richmond Under-13s drew away to Nunthorpe Athletic who are top of the division. This was a match where defences were firmly on top and in an even first half there were few chances.
