The Joiners went down by the odd point against the visiting Willington Commercial, whilst The Black Horse Tavern lost at home to Willington Burn.

The Joiners had singles wins from Ian Richardson and Paul Reidy, whilst the Commercial went ahead with wins from Dessie Ayre, Barry Atkinson, Pat Swain and Jean Swain. The visitor took two of the three doubles but the Joiners won the team game to clinch the championship.
