The top of the table clash between leaders Chester-le-Street and Redheugh ended in an exciting 3-3 draw. Brown was twice on target and Adamson replied for Cestrians as the Reds went in at the halfway stage 2-1 in front.

In the second period Laws netted for Redheugh, but goals by Adamson and Taylor earned Chester-le-Street a share of the points and enabled them to retain their six-point lead over their rivals who have played three games fewer.

North Tyneside College won for only the second time when they visited third from bottom Consett. Morgan found the net for the Steelmen and Black struck for the College in the opening 45 minutes. The visitors enjoyed the better of the second half exchanges and won with another goal from Black and one by Hathaway. The result, however, still leaves College firmly rooted to the bottom of the table. Despite now having collected seven points, they have had 18 deducted for early season infringements and are still on minus 11.
