Colin Stainsby and Steve Smith's domination of dominoes continues with the pair claiming yet another national title win.
The duo, representatives of the Darlington Club and Institute, based in North Road, have won the national Fives and Threes competition for the second consecutive year.
They retained the trophy in Doncaster at the weekend against a pair from Essex, and this latest success come shortly after successfully defending their John Smiths National CIU Pairs title.
Stainsby and Smith retained that title earlier this year, and should they repeat either feat next year they will be awarded commemorative trophies to make the event.
Club secretary, Doug Heseltine, is already hoping for the same outcome in 12 month's time so has wasted no time in registering the pair for the next competition.
He said: "It's a huge honour for the club because no other pair has ever achieved what Colin and Steve have done.
"Because it's not been done by another club I feel it's something to be proud of."
The win against the Essex pair - the South's finest - was relatively comfortable, winning 3-1 although at one stage the Darlington team almost found themselves 2-1 down. But they recovered to win the best of five match, 3-1.
