A HOST of star names are coming to Darlington Civic Theatre this summer.

The venue launched its summer repertory programme by revealing plans for four contrasting plays.

The first production, called Sailor Beware! will feature Footballers' Wives star Katharine Monaghan, who played Donna Walmsley in the ITV1 drama.

Katharine, who comes from Newcastle, will be back in her native North-East alongside Ruth Madoc and Michael Tudor Barnes for the show, which opens on June 17.

It Runs In The Family, with a cast led by Hi-De-Hi's Jeffery Holland, is the second production of the season and will be followed by an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's novel, Rebecca.

The final play of the season is Trap for a Lonely Man, starring Jonathon Morris, who returns to Darlington following his recent performance in the Ian Dickens' production, Double Double.
