Willington League: The top two teams both lost in their final matches of the season and now have to play-off for the championship. Willington Black Horse Tavern went into the final match one point ahead of Willington Black Horse Inn but the title escaped them when they only took two points from the visiting Willington Burn.

Willington Black Horse Inn could have lost out on trophies if they were whitewashed at Willington Lion and Unicorn but they qualified by the play-off by taking three points.

The Lion and Unicorn had singles wins from Alan Lee, Phil Blyth and Donald Young, whilst the visitors replied with wins from Tony Claughan and Sammy Jackson. Phil Blyth and Alan Lee ensured the Unicorn of victory by winning the first doubles but Steve Cason and Tony Claughan put the Inn into a play-off by taking the second doubles.

Crook League

Reigning champions, Crook Belle Vue made a good start to the new season with a three points home win over Crook White Swan. The home side had singles wins from Jack walker, Ivor Phillipson, John Warriner, Roy Hoggarth and Dave Hakin, whilst the Swan replied with a singles point from Darren Alderson and a the doubles from Andrew Finch and Lee Airey.

Willington and District League

Hunwick Quarry managed to force a play-off in the Captain's Table with Sunnybrow Brown Trout after they won their outstanding match at Willington Cottles. However their hosts had the satisfaction of landing the League Championship by six points after their odd point win over the Quarry.
