Thirsk Under-10s took on Bedale Under-10s last Sunday at Bedale High School in glorious spring sunshine and this 11 a-side match marked the end of both teams' seven a-side fixtures.

Falcons got off to a strong start with their impressive pace and passing and were unlucky not to be at least three up within the first 15 minutes. The first half however, finished goalless. After the restart with a couple of changes made by both sides Falcons went 1-0 up with a fine finish by Ryan McKendry.

Bedale came back quite strongly and were able to equalise with a penalty after a push in the area was spotted by the well placed referee. End to end football then followed and Falcons soon restored the lead when Dan Easton finished off another well worked move.

But Bedale kept on going and equalised in the latter stages with a looping deflected shot which left Richard Periam in the Falcons goal helpless to keep out. Congratulations to both teams for the effort and sportsmanship shown.

Thirsk Under-13s swept aside Leeming Lads with a comprehensive 7-0 win. The Falcons began brightly and Sam Raw soon opened the scoring with a deft lob although they missed a penalty before James Padget climbed highest to nod in a second.

Tom Daniel crossed for Fountain to put in a third on 20 minutes. Duncan Padget then latched on to a Tom James pass, rounded the keeper and slotted in number four.

Sam Raw completed a stylish brace before the break. In a relaxed second half Dion Costick dispatched a free kick with embarrassing ease and man of the match. James Padget made a buccaneering 50-yard run to set up Fountain for his second and Falcons' seventh.

Thirsk Under-14s took three valuable points at Tees Valley winning 3-1.

Anthony Elders met a Dave James cross with a tremendous diving header for 1-0. Elders then double the lead when put through by Slappy. Matthew Lawley rifled in number three. Man of the match was M Cobb.

Blackfyne Under-10s Gunners lost 2-0 against Whickham Fellside with Chris Ledger was man of the match.

Blackfyne Bullets had a fine 5-0 win against Felling. Thomas Rowland, Sam Taylor (2) and man of the match, Benjamin Camsell, were the scorers.

The Under-12s beat top of the table Leam Rangers Yellows in the quarter final of the League Cup 2-0. Andrew Rennoldson scored both goals and was man of the match.

The Under-14s beat Beamish 3-1. Shaun Donaghy, Lee Calvert and Scott Goldsmith were the scorers and Shaun Rogan was man of the match.
