FIREFIGHTERS attending a grass fire on the Eston Hills found a young boy who had cut his head.
He is thought to have gone over the handlebars on his bike after riding too quickly down a hill at Barnaby Moorside.
Officers from Grangetown fire station gave the child first aid and called an ambulance to take him to hospital following the incident at 1.15pm on Sunday.
* An elderly woman was freed from a lift in a residential home by firefighters on Saturday.
She became trapped at about 8am and buzzed for help.
A rescue crew from Hartlepool went to the home in Studley Road, in the town's Belle Vue area, and freed her.
* A portable building at Stockton Football Club was severely damaged by fire at the weekend.
Two fire engines from Thornaby attended the blaze at the ground in Acklam Road, Thornaby, just after 9am on Saturday.
Firemen used three hose reels and specialist breathing apparatus to dowse flames. No one was injured in the blaze.
