The following cases were dealt with by Darlington magistrates yesterday:

INDECENCY CHARGE: The case against John Kelly, 52, of Montrose Street, Darlington, who has been charged with 18 counts of taking indecent pictures of a child, has been adjourned until Tuesday, April 15.

ASSAULT ALLEGED: David Wheeler, 58, of Farndale Crescent, Darlington, is accused of five counts of indecently assaulting a girl under 16 between August 25, 1991, and August 25, 1992. The case was adjourned until May 27.

CASE ADJOURNED: The case against Phillip Kelly, 18, of Hundens Lane, Darlington, has been adjourned until April 15. He is charged with aggravated vehicle taking and other driving offences, after an incident in Haughton Road, Darlington, on March 6.

HEARING ADJOURNED: Kenneth Frid, 55, of Inverary Close, Darlington, appeared before the court charged with assaulting Lianne Cain, also of Inverary Close, on March 5. Mr Frid was also charged with harassing Ms Cain between January 1 and March 5 this year. The case was adjourned until May 6.

CHARGE DENIED: Anthony Gibson Teasdale, 58, of Wells Grove, Willington, has pleaded not guilty to driving a Vauxhall Cavalier without a licence in St Cuthbert's Way, Darlington. The case was adjourned until April 15.

THREATS CLAIM: Vance Currie, 32, of Beaumont Hill, Darlington, appeared before magistrates to face charges including making threats to kill on February 19 this year. The case was adjourned until May 27 for committal to crown court.

CASE ADJOURNED: Keith Cooper, 48, of Marrick Avenue, Darlington, has appeared in court charged with aggravated burglary and two cases of resisting arrest on the same date. The case was adjourned until April 15.

TRAFFIC INCIDENT: Wayne Evers, 26, of Tyne Crescent, Darlington, has appeared in court charged with causing danger to road users by interfering with a vehicle on January 23. The case was adjourned until April 15
