COMMUNITY AWARD: Katie Brown has been presented with the Stockton Mayor's Achievement Recognition Trophy for community work.

The Egglescliffe Comprehensive pupil represents Stockton South on the Youth Parliament and works for Tees Valley Connexions and Fudge (Fun and Understanding Through Games and Education). In addition, she has completed more than 400 hours of community work.

CLUB SUCCESS: The following members of Yarm's Baek Ho Taekwondo club passed their recent Kup gradings: Christopher and Charlotte Burguiere; Dale Sykes, George Thomas; Richard Hinchley; Andrew McQuillen; Matthew Reynolds and Jonathan O'Brien.

£5,000 Grant: Yarm Fellowship Hall committee has received a £5,000 grant from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme. The money will be used to provide stage lighting.

FUNDS RAISED: Pupils at Yarm Preparatory School raised £1,023.70 when they took part in a sponsored music "practice-a-thon" in aid of Sargent Cancer Care for Children. They have also raised £270 for the Blue Peter Waterworks appeal.

EASTER RAFFLE: There will be an Easter stall and Easter egg bonanza raffle on Sunday, April 13, in St Mary Magdalene Yarm Parish Church. Proceeds will go to the church restoration fund.

centre activities: Eggles-cliffe Community Centre, in Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe, is inviting people to take part in carpet bowls, with mixed sessions on Mondays at 7pm, and women's sessions on Tuesdays at 2pm.
