A 43-year-old man is in a critical condition after being involved in a road traffic accident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred in Norton Avenue, Stockton, at 1pm on Monday.
The man is thought to have been crossing from the south side of the road to the north from behind parked cars, when he collided with a blue Vauxhall Cavalier. The male driver has been interviewed by police.
The pedestrian was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with facial injuries and a fractured leg and hip.
