THE year seven football team from Laurence Jackson Sports College in Guisborough narrowly missed out on international glory last weekend.
The team travelled to Manchester for the UK final of the Fox Kids six-a-side competition last Sunday after qualifying ahead of 42 other schools in the northern final at Gateshead in February.
Competing against nine other regional winners, Laurence Jackson reached the semi-finals after finishing second in their group.
They were beaten 4-1 in the last four by Great Barr School from Birmingham, who went on to win the competition.
They will represent the UK in the Fox Kids world finals in Amsterdam in June.
