CELEBRATIONS took place yesterday as an area of Middlesbrough was designated as a local nature reserve.
More than 100 local primary school pupils, with banners flying, paraded through Linthorpe Cemetery, marking the burial ground's new status. English Nature designated the site a nature reserve because it is "a green oasis for everyone to enjoy".
