The Northern TUC will hold its inaugural annual regional conference in the Assembly Rooms, Newcastle, on Saturday and Sunday.
More than 160 trade union delegates will debate issues ranging from pensioner and public services to racism and Iraq. The speakers will include TUC general secretary, Brendan Barber.
